[Narration]
Kaza-haya no . . . . .
Of the swift wind . . . .
Mio no urawa wo, kogu fune no,
Mio's bay along, the rowing boats
Urabito sawagu namiji kana !
Shore-people noisy wave-path it-is-indeed !
Banri no Kôzan ni,
Ten thousand miles of high-mountains upon,
Kumo tachimachi-ni okori,
Clouds suddenly rising,
Ichirô no meigetsu ni,
Tower-high bright-moon by,
Ame hajimete hareri.
(The) rain at-last has-cleared.
Geni nodoka-naru toki shi-mo ya !
Truly (a) calm-and-bright time it-is.
Haru no keshiki matsubara no . . . . .
The spring's scene in-the-pine-grove . . . . .
Nami tachi-tsuzuku asa-gasumi . . . . .
Waves rising-to-touch the-morning-haze . . . . .
Tsuki mo nokori no ama-no-hara.
The-moon still remaining in heaven's plain.
Oyobi-naki mi no nagame nimo.
Humble self's observation even-to,
Kokoro sora-naru keshiki kana.
Heart-bewitching sight it-is indeed.

Together, now let-us-go.
Kaze mukô, . . . . .
In the wind . . . . .
Kumo no uki-nami tatsu to mite,
The-clouds' floating-waves rising, so seeing,
Tsuri sede hito ya kaeru-ran.
Without-fishing people may-come-home.
Mate shibashi ! Haru naraba . . . . . .
Wait a little! Spring if-it-is . . . . .

The-pine's unchanging voice truly-it-is.
